Mary Louise Willey Carlisle, 92, of Weldon, died Saturday, December 17, 2011.

Mrs. Carlisle, a native of Halifax County, was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Mary Lewis Willey. She was also preceded in death by her husband Willard H. Carlisle. Mrs. Carlisle was a long time member of Pierce’s camp ground United Methodist Church and most recently a member of Weldon United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Carlisle is survived by her sister, Inez W. Gardner and her husband, Julian, of Weldon; nieces, Tracy LeRose and her husband, Matt, of Fredericksburg, VA., Sue Lawrence and her husband, Floyd, of Putney, VT, Becky Edwards and her husband, Cliff, of Halifax, Nancy Garner and her husband, Archie, of Ham Lake, MN, Pattie Putnum and her husband, Mike, of Charlestown, NH, and Becky Magee and her husband, Joe, of Henrico; nephews, Bobby Willey and his wife, Nancy, of Ridgefield, WA, Boyd Gardner and his wife, Kathy, of Tarboro, and David Gardner and his wife, Melanie, of Fuquay-Varina; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Sue Owens and Rev. Dr. Marjorie Holm officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until services time and other times at the home of her sister at 407 Brownell Street, Weldon.
